Chilling today involves, playing music on our phones, scrolling through Instagram.. watching Netflix. Here are some ways to just chill w/o the gimmicks. All you need is yourself, some pillows, some friends and groceries!

1. Cuddle. Cuddling is a huge anxiety release!

A 20-second hug, along with 10 minutes of hand-holding, also reduces the harmful physical effects of stress, including its impact on your blood pressure and heart rate.4 This makes sense, since hugging is known to lower levels of stress hormones like cortisol. But research suggests there’s even more to it than that. As reported by Fun Hugging Facts

If that’s solely based off of a hug, imagine what a safe and cozy cuddle session can do for the soul.

Don’t have a cuddle buddy. Me neither! This is me cuddling with pillows. Not a human, but the support is amazing.

2. Close your eyes. Focus on the area you physically feel the stress in your body. Take deep breathes and try to relax each area on your exhales. Breathing at least 5 massively slow times.

3. Legs up the wall! Every time I say this in yoga class I hear little “yays” scattered around the room. This pose is great for anxiety release and giving the heart a break from pumping blood into the legs. Hold for 5 mins, just being in that moment with your breath, acknowledging your thoughts but not allowing yourself to get stuck on one.

4. Cook! With just your thoughts no background. Paying attention to the flavors the smells, the textures. Enjoy the process.

Let me know how long you can just chill without electronics! Maybe a challenge? Comment Below
